 Welcome to the home of fishing guide Steve Pumphrey. I've fished Kentucky Lake and the surrounding area for more than forty years, and I invite you to join me for rest, relaxation and world-class fishing. I provide all the equipment and experience you'll need. My wife, Rhonda, and I also have clean, comfortable lodging available at our place right in the heart of Kentucky Dam Village. Our mission is to develop a knowledge and appreciation of our waters of Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley, and the Tennessee, Cumberland and Ohio Rivers; and to understand that this is the day the Lord hath made and to be glad in it. About the Area Western Kentucky is a sportsman's paradise, offering something for anyone who enjoys fishing and the outdoors. Kentucky Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world and is well-known for its large and abundant crappie, as well as healthy populations of bass, catfish, bluegill and other species. Nearby, Lake Barkley offers similar opportunities. The areas below the dams of the big lakes (the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers) hold big striped bass and catfish, as well as other species. The lower portions of the Ohio River also offer a diversity of fishing opportunities, including winter sauger. In addition to outstanding fishing and hunting, the area boasts a variety of activities including golf, tennis, hiking, mountain and road bicycling, horseback riding, watersports, off-roading, wildlife viewing, antiquing, shows and dining. About Me Originally from Pulaski County, Kentucky, I graduated from Georgetown College and started out teaching high school and coaching basketball in Shelbyville. From there I moved on to a career in scholastic sales with Intercollegiate Press and Herff Jones, which I retired from a few years ago. My passion, though, has always been fishing, especially in the Kentucky Lake region. As we approached retirement, Rhonda and I built a home here and I started guiding the waters I know and love. We have three sons and five grandchildren.
